Details

The Submariner lives up to its name in a way that only the Original and best can manage.

Hand finished in England the Submariner is made from sustainable High Altitude Merino wool. Other design features include a dropped shoulder that creates the most comfortable fit possible, that allows this most precious yarn, and its extra soft texture, to be fully appreciated.

Chosen for its ability to be both warm, but also brilliant at `wicking+` away body moisture, this is a garment for all seasons.

+ Wicking is a technical word to describe how effective fabrics are at allowing body moisture to travel through the yarn, and waft away into the atmosphere.

Merino is recognised as the best natural fibre for wicking. High Altitude is recognised as the finest Merino you can buy. High Altitude Merino comes from the Andes where it is a naturally farmed yarn, essential to the lifestyles of the indigenous farmers who have farmed these merino sheep since they were first introduced by the Spanish conquistadors.

Features

  • • We believe in producing clothes that people need, that will last an exceptionally long time, are easy to maintain and repair, yet are soft to touch, comfortable and warm to wear, and are sure to be your favourite choice.
  • • Keeping your sweater in perfect condition requires less effort than you think an occasional wash, in cool water, with a little natural soap, rinse thoroughly, dry without stretching. How often? Merino kills bad smells, but cannot hide stains- so be careful and you will wash less.
  • • Our Authentic Submariner uses a heavy yarn, tightly woven, and knitted so it moves with your body.
  • • Your Submariner works well on its own or as a layer under your coat.
  • Drop shoulder- this means the sleeve stops before it reaches the point of your shoulder bone, and hangs just below the shoulder. This means it is more comfortable in wear. When you are under water for days or even weeks on end you need to be comfortable.

Sizing Guide

Please note that the measurements given in this size guide are actual garment measurements, and as all of our coats are individually hand made the measurements can vary slightly. Duffle coats are traditionally generous fitting. We recommend that our customers measure an existing coat and use this as a guideline for choosing the correct size against our size guide.

How to take the measurements:
  • 1. Chest - Measured around the chest at its fullest part with the tape measure tucked just below each armpit. Make sure the tape is flat across the back.
  • 2. Outside Arm Length - Measured from the armpit seam to the end of the arm cuff.
  • 3. Length - Measured from the nape of the neck to the hem of the coat.
